As my wife, Myra, and I returned to our apartment recently from lunch in the Bistro down the hall, it was raining-in fact it rained most of that day. We find this to be one of the blessings of apartment dwelling; we can keep dry as we go to and from our residence in rain or snow. When we attend programs, committee meetings, activities or other events, we do not need to step outside in bad weather. Our gathering room, swimming pool, fitness center, health center, therapy room, wood shop and many other facilities are all under cover with easy access from our apartment. Downsizing wasn't much of a problem because we had come from a two bedroom condo and gone through that process before.
Our apartment consists of a living/dining area, bedroom, den, kitchen, three seasons room, and one and a half baths. The den is furnished with a pull-out trundle bed, chest of drawers, desk, computer, three chairs, and serves as an office as well as an extra bedroom when needed. All of this serves us quite well for our "elder years." And, oh, yes, the apartment have access to an underground parking garage!
