submarine submerging into water

Amanda Modelski, one of two Kendal at Granville artists-in-residence during the summer of 2019, wrote and illustrated this war story based on an interview with Kendal at Granville resident Trevor “Trig” Gamble—one of the U.S. Navy’s original “top gun” pilots. Captain Gamble’s active duty assignments during the Korean War included a three-year tour of duty with an Air Anti-Submarine Squadron deployed aboard several aircraft carriers. Trig has a doctorate in physics, and from 1963–96 he taught physics, astronomy and downhill skiing as a Denison University faculty member.
